Hello world

While we currently only offer UK/US numbering and support in English, we are aware that there are people all over the world interested in trying out the Truphone service and saving money through mobile VoIP.

We plan to offer wider support and numbering as soon as we can, but in the meantime we want to help people wherever we can, so we are pleased to launch our 'international lite' pages

These are not full launch sites, but help pages for users and media/bloggers. The truphone.com/int pages include:

* Translated instructions on how to get Truphone
* Local-language press office
* Where to buy Truphone-compatible handsets
* Links to local-language forums to help one-another

Spread the word and talk to more people for free

Truphone cannot advise on the legality of VoIP services in specific territories or jurisdictions. It is the user's responsibility to confirm that use of the Truphone VoIP software and service is permitted in the location in which they use it.

Truphone works across Europe's newest & largest Wi-Fi hotspot: the City of London

You may have seen that The Cloud has just covered London's financial square mile with Wi-Fi connectivity.

As a long-standing partner of the Cloud, we are pleased to confirm that Truphone works on it.

Truphone working on the Cloud City of London network means that another milestone in the internet telephony revolution has been passed. It is now possible to make internet-rate calls on a very desirable mobile phone whilst walking through the streets of the world's foremost financial district.

hurray for Photoshop

Through a roaming agreement with The Cloud, Truphone users can automatically make and receive calls from 7,500 UK hotspots, including the City of London Wi-Fi zone, from just 3p/minute.

Truphone shop now live on eXpansys [update: international shops now live too]

We're delighted to announce that eXpansys have launched a Truphone shop for us on their site. There you'll be able to choose from a wide-range of Truphone-compatible phones and (soon) other recommended Wi-Fi VoIP equipment.

eXpansys

We've long been fans of eXpansys. They really know their stuff and their reputation for good service is well-earned.

A reliable source for buying tech items has never been more important, what with the recent hoo-hah over some carriers disabling VoIP on handsets they supply.

Buy from eXpansys and you'll get the real deal.

EDIT: international shops now live

VIDEO showing internet telephony removed on some Nokia N95s

The Nokia N95 is a GREAT phone, capable of video, GPS, VoIP and more. But before you buy on contract... ask if anything has been disabled.

Some carriers give you the whole phone... and some do not.

To be sure, buy yours unlocked - eg, Expansys or Nokia's online shop

This video shows what's missing on some operator-modified phones

Make sure you get a Nokia N95 with all its features intact
