Reports of internet telephony being disabled on some N95s

Posted by Truphone on April 11, 2007

Some Truphone customers have contacted us with reports that Nokia N95s they've bought under contract from their carriers appear to have internet telephony disabled. This means they cannot use Truphone as they'd hoped.

We're not happy with this. The Nokia N95 is a great phone and everyone deserves to use it to its full potential. We're following this up and will keep you updated with news and fixes.

Meanwhile, our advice is:

1. Ask the right questions. Before handing over your money, ask "Has this phone been nobbled? Has anyone turned off internet telephony?"

2. If in doubt, buy from someone who won't mess with your phone. We recommend Expansys

Make sure your N95 is 100%

Got an opinion on this? Has someone messed with your phone? Discuss this on the mobile voip forum
