Download a sneak preview of the new Truphone client

This week Truphone is exhibiting at the VON Europe event in Stockholm, and we're taking the opportunity to show a sneak preview of the all-new Truphone 3.0 client.

Whilst not ready for full public release, Truphone 3.0 is in the final stages of development and is available for you to try.

If you're the kind of person who likes to try things first and will happily put up with a few bugs in exchange for cool new features, then read on!

Features

• NEW Free SMS messages - Text other Truphone users for free
• NEW Multi-SIM for Travelers - multiple SIM management
• NEW Truphone over 3G - VoIP calls in more places
• IMPROVED Easier Wi-Fi access - Truphone manages multiple access points so you don't have to
• IMPROVED Works on more routers - less chance of pesky port-blocking
• IMPROVED Easier installation - we've got rid of the awkward bits

Caveats

• This pre-release doesn't automatically disconnect from access points. This means you could get stuck on 3G. If you do get stuck, then simply go to Truphone settings and manually choose an alternative access point.
• Truphone over 3G is fantastic if you've got a generous (or 'all-you-can-eat') data tariff, but do note that cost, quality and availability of 3G services vary enormously. While it is possible to talk for free walking down the street, it is also possible to run up a huge bill this way. Be sure to check both that your operator allows this and what your tariff is - especially when you're roaming overseas

How to get Truphone 3.0 (pre-release)
Do one of the following:

• via SMS: Text the word 'download' to +44 7624 000 000, or
• via PC: Save this file to your computer and transfer it (cable or bluetooth) to your phone
