We've got big news about small prices.
Today, Truphone is introducing the Tru Zone - simple, low-cost calling from anywhere on the planet.
We've abolished roaming charges. That means it doesn't matter where you are or where you travel to, you'll pay the same easy to understand rate to make Wi-Fi calls to domestic and international numbers. And there are no inbound charges either.
You can call any of the 40 countries in the Tru Zone for a tiny 3p to landlines and 15p to mobiles. Some countries such as the USA, Canada and China are double special. Calls to both landlines and mobiles are a flat 3p! Calls to much of the rest of the world are flat and simple too at just 5p to landlines and 25p to mobiles.

Thanks for your support

Skype has much cheaper call rates to US with just $0.024 Please see:

You have to be competitive with this pricing.

I've been a Truphone user since August and am kinda disappointed in the rates. Also there's no unlimited option to be found. A flat $5 rate for Unlimited calls per region would be nice.

Truphone is the only VOIP that lets you connect via 3G. Since I don't have WIFI access, I often use 3G and its been a great experience. Thanks Truphone! =)

Sorry but new rates r a joke. In my specific case calling landline in Poland from Ireland is 4 times more expensive than VoipCheap. calling mobiles in Poland is as expensive as using GSM Network, and texts are only 1c cheaper. so where's the point guys ?

After reviewing the BIG NEWS about BIG PRICES, I'm gonna have to quit using truphone. Skype rates are way cheaper. Falling back to FRING on my phone.

Its now more expensive for me to use Truphone than my regular cellphone service here in the US. I would also be interested in a flat fee specifically for the US.

You seem to have lost all your customers, which are used to Euro, as on your new website you only show USD and Pdstlg rates. Did you just forget it or is this some sort of continued ignorance to customers?

You guys have a perfect opportunity to do something great with Truphone, but your rates are going to hold you back.
Point in fact are your charges to landlines. Most VOIP providers offer free calls to landlines to the majority of countries around the world.
Call quality is good, features are excellent. You've got a great product here, don't kill it with high rates.
Review your pricing structure, remove the silly Truphone tagline that you add to all out-going text messages and you'll have a service that can be used by home and business users.

Well skype ads 0.045 cent connection charge for calls to the US. So in fact you are paying the rate Suchit mentions above 0.024 + 0.045 = 0.069 plus Skype voice quality is so poor and not comparable to truphone. I will stick with truphone, much better service, I would never use Skype or Skype OUT to make a business critical call, but I would use truphone anytime. Truphone is better than GSM or 3G call quality and more reliable...

Quit whining people, some of you have probably been on free calls to landlines for months! Their rates are a fraction of the cost of a GSM call. Yes, there are other services out there, but this is the only one I've tried that works. Also, VOIP over 3G is great because who wants to find a hot spot just to make a phone call?

Truphone rates fraction of a GSM call ?
Sorry, but i have to disagree with you. Calling land lines in Hungary from a mobile phone is 1.5p and calling mobiles is somewhere between 4p - 10p. Truphone gives you 3p / 15p - this price is higher than the majority of the voip providers - and it IS HIGHER than a normal GSM call price in Hungary.
The verdict: I like truphone because of the sound quality (somebody mentioned Skype as a voip alternative - that's a joke guys :) ... ) - but probably I won't stay after my credit is over if the prices will stay at this level ...
I'm not sure either what's happening with the pound / penny based price tags ?? - do you REALLY intend this service for the UK market only ??
So - dear truphone - would you consider lowering your prices :p ?

A year ago, I rushed out and got an Nokia e65 and have enjoyed you're product (& the free calls) from day 1.
Like many others, I am disappointed at your newly publish call charge rates. I could say say so much more... but I won't because I like Truephone.
You guys should shape-up & not be part of the rip-off Britain movement.

Just back from Thailand. I used Truphone on my Nokia N95 (using the hotel's WiFi) to call home in South Africa nearly every day. It worked every time and the the sound quality was excellent. Thanks for liberating me from my rip-off mobile phone company and their ridiculous "roaming" charges.

I was a regular user of Truphone when it was free (obviously) and would have been prepared to pay for the service if it had been competitive with skype, but in the packed voip market, 3 things speak to me: price, call quality and the ability to be untethered. Truphone wins the last category hands down but you are now much more expensive than other options and call quality is patchy at best. I don't hesitate to have business calls over skype, but I don't have business calls over truphone.
I am also testing out Fring (www.fring.com) as a mobile skype application for my Nokia E61 which allows me to make skypeout calls at a third of the cost of yours.
The best reason to keep truphone is the free US phone number that came with the account!
I don't understand your business model... After 2 years of free use, I expected to pay something for the service, as I assume many of your other testers did, but with this tariff structure, you've pushed us into a corner, and we're going to abandon you!

Truephone is 5 times more expensive for some destinations!!
Skype $ 0.099 -- TurPhone $ 0.500
