Nokia 5800, N97 and more now Truphone-supported
We have read on blogs, on Twitter, on Facebook, and via Customer Support that there are lots of Nokia users with Nokia handsets not supported by Truphone, who are disappointed that they can't use Truphone.
Not wanting to disappoint people, we have done something about it.
From today, Truphone now works on 12 new Nokia handsets, including the 5800 and the N97!
Users of these new handsets will all be able to take advantage of our low cost international call rates without being connected to Wi-Fi, as the application uses Truphone Anywhere technology to connect calls.
Four of the newly-supported Nokia handsets also work when connected to Wi-Fi, meaning users can make free Truphone to Truphone calls, and save even more.
So if you and your friends have any of the Nokia handsets below, now is the perfect time to get Truphone, available here to download free.

Please, please tell us when Nokia will allow VOIP/SIP on the N97! And when Truphone will be implementing WIFI capability on this phone. My current Nokia is dying and would like Truphone capability on a larger screen!

Hi Jase - no update just yet I'm afraid. We are certainly aware from the many comments and questions about the N97 that this is something that our customers want, and we are aiming to have something out soon.

i have had my nokia N97 for 6 months now and since i got ive had nothing BUT trouble, first the internet was disconnecting me while i was logged into websites like banking, when the phone went died and i recharged it, i had to pull the battery out and turn it back on. Then when i was ringing people they couldn’t hear me. Then my navigator was telling me that it had expired when ive only had it 6 months, and my battery was faulty.
Now after waiting 2 weeks to get my phone back from nokia (yes it took them 2 weeks to get a battery) i cant make or receive calls and my internet is done but only in selected areas. I rang Vodafone & nokia and they sugested i get a replacement phone but the store i got it through said i couldn’t
