Eric Schmidt's a fan of Truphone
Amid all the fanfare yesterday at Google's keynote speech at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where Eric Schmidt talked about 'mobile first' and 'mobile technology being fundamental to human existence', one thing was missing from the reporting of the press conference which we wanted to highlight - Mr Schmidt's inclusion of Truphone in the video of applications for Android handsets that was shown as part of his presentation!!
But don't they own Gizmo? a competitor?

@Kieran - ours is not to reason why... (although you're correct, Gizmo5 was bought by Google and integrated into Google Voice).
@Mikeeeee - we're glad he did eventually as Truphone Wi-Fi calling now works on the HTC G1, HTC Magic, HTC Hero and the Nexus One.

Matt, regarding Truphone working on the Nexus One, I've wanted to try out Truphone on my Nexus One, as Fring has noticeable lag whenever I try using it to make calls for free.
Using my N1 attached to a WiFi hotspot, I just downloaded and tried to install Truphone, but it failed to install. I tried it several times but after saying it is "provisioning" it always goes to a failure screen with white text on a black background.
Might you know what is going on?
