5 simple tips for beating jet lag
We’ve all had it and we all hate it. Jet lag is dreadful proof that these days we do more than our bodies are able to cope with. Luckily, with just a little bit of effort you can easily reduce the negative effects of crossing half the planet in just a few hours. Here’s the list of methods that the most frequent travellers at the Tru office find most useful:
1. SHIFT TO THE NEW TIME ZONE EARLY
If possible, start shifting to the new time zone a day or two beforehand. Go to bed earlier or later(depending on which way you are going) and force yourself into a new schedule rather than try and do it gradually.
2. TIRE YOURSELF OUT
If you can, go for a jog or a quick gym session before the flight, this will help you fall asleep on the plane. Same trick works when you arrive at your destination and need to be asleep earlier than you would normally be.
3. GLASS OF RED WINE OR G&T
Works a treat before a good night sleep. Moderation is the key, do not get drunk as that will dehydrate your body so you’ll be waking up at night and feel even worse in the morning. Trust us.
4. WALK IT OFF
It’s 9am in the morning, you just got off the plane and you’re dying for a nap. Don’t. Get out of your hotel and go for a long walk, see some tourist attractions. As silly as that may sound, new sights, smells and sounds will keep your mind wide awake until the evening, when you can crash in your bed and wake up next morning as if you’re at home.
5. WATCH YOUR FOOD
It’s been proven that your internal clock reacts to your eating habits. Eat late and you’ll stay up for longer. Use this to your advantage and change your breakfast, lunch and dinner time to fit into the new time zone before you arrive there. Some airlines offer meals at any time during the flight, so take advantage of this if you can!
We know that everyone’s different but hopefully some of these tips will do wonders for you, as they do for us. If you’ve got your ideal methods, we can’t wait to hear it, please use comment section below.

Sleeping works best - plenty of it. Ride wine was a no no for me.
Best cure or remedy for jet lag i found was prickly pear capsules ann protex h which is pretty much the same but more geared up towards stress from jet lag.

looking for new info on jet lag but have read this a hundred times on other sites.
I've travelled quite a bit and suffered jet lag needlessly over the past 10 years. I tried that Protex-h and I thought it worked pretty good. My daughter also tried them and has been using them ever since. I hadn't heard of them before, but a friend at the gym had game me a pack to try.
I also tried nomorejetlag but it didn't agree with me at all. The virgin app is pretty useful if not entertaining.

My personal advice is to adjust with your inverted territory. Meaning, do not sleep the whole day but choose to nap then have a good night's sleep. That will restore your body chemistry.
