How do you use data abroad?
Every day there are news stories, and plenty of tweets and blog posts about the latest roaming charge horror story. More and more, data usage abroad is to blame.
We recently mentioned that anyone watching the Royal Wedding abroad on their iPad could end up with a bill of over £78,000 from some operators (not us of course! See details here), which is quite ridiculous and something we hope no-one incurred.
So the question this week is, when you are abroad how exactly do you use data?
Considering that a link from your own blog states that local data rates per megabyte are around 4.4p per megabyte, how can you charge £1.50 per megabyte even when not roaming?
You've got calls/texts pretty cheap, please can you do something about the data as it is currently unusable for anything but the most basic of tasks

Hi Matt
£1.50/MB is usually the price we charge in Europe when roaming and this is still on average half the price of what other operators would charge you for the same service. This will obviously go down even more with each new Tru country being added.
Pay as you go local rates in the UK, USA and Australia are much lower, check rates in 'Membership' column here http://www.truphone.com/en-GB/Products/Tru-SIM/Rate-Checker/
However if you've been charged incorrectly, please get in touch with the help team at help@truphone.com so they can resolve that.
