How people use Wi-Fi in-flight

Wifi-onboard In the US, Wi-Fi is becoming a common option during flights, and as more people get smartphones and tablets like the iPad, the growth and demand will continue to increase.

Mashable published an interesting infographic yesterday about how people are using Wi-Fi during their flights. See the infographic.

Some of the interesting findings of the research included:

  • Nearly 80% of mobile users are on either an iPhone or iPad (1/3 iPads and 2/3 iPhones), compared with just 4% using BlackBerry
  • 67% mix work & play during in-flight internet sessions, with only 6% using Wi-Fi just for work (or so they say!)
  • Facebook accounts for 61% of all social network traffic

So we thought we would ask you - how do you/would you use Wi-Fi during a flight? Let us know below.
