Masters of the Tru-niverse

'Brand' is a word which means a lot of things to a lot of people.

In a corporate world, many people associate brand to simply being a logo, font and/or colours. But it goes much deeper than that. It's something that represents the heart of every organisation with every touch point reflecting brand in both internal and external communications.

At the heart of our brand we have Jen, our brand new.... well... Brand Manager.

Jen, as she turned up to work on her first day.

Jen, turning up to work on her first day.

Jen is a specialist in 'creating emotional relationships between brands and their customers'. We found her plying her trade in a completely different sector, loved her work – and invited her in to join the Truphone mission.

Last week she presented at the New Designers exhibition at the Business Design Centre in London, sharing her experience on her Master's degree and early career with a group of newly minted design graduates.

In talking through the theme of her Masters dissertation, she showed how her understanding of emotional relationships is shaping the work she does in the real world. It's not a giant conceptual leap - at the heart of Truphone, we know that the work we do helps develop better relationships between real people and businesses – by reducing the 'invisible' barriers to communication.

But, it was inspirational stuff! Jen showed how her "smarts", insight and hard work had got her into a position where she can do the work she loves, and affect the lives of real people in a positive way.

Keep your eye out as Jen's presence starts to drive the evolution of our brand.
