Friday's are usually great at Truphone.
And when we find out we have been nominated for a BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) Award, it makes it even better!
Truphone for the iPod Touch has been nominated in the category of best Mobile Apps and Games, among some tough competition.
What a great way to head into the weekend.
Exciting news! Truphone has just been shortlisted as one of the finalists for a 2009 World Communication Award, to be awarded on November 25!
The awards are designed to “recognise the companies and individuals responsible for the innovations, achievements and great new services that are helping to build tomorrows industry” (description from the World Communications Award website).
Truphone has been nominated in the category of ‘Best Change-Maker’, among some quite well-known companies, so we are all crossing our fingers that the judges decide that our great range of applications is the most ‘change-making’. We think they are!
Truphone has just been nominated for a 2009 Macworld Award in the category of Best iPhone/iPod touch application.
Macworld describes the award as "most innovative and successful products and companies in the Mac community for their achievements and contributions to the industry."
We are up against some tough competition, including Google Earth. Winners will be announced on June 18. Wish us luck!
UPDATE - We didn't win :( - well done to ConcertVault though, who took away the award.
We are calling on you, our Truphone fans, to help us out. We have been nominated for a Crunchie award for 2008's Best Mobile Startup.
The Crunchies website describes the awards as an "award ceremony to recognize and celebrate the most compelling startups, internet and technology innovations of the year."
We are up against some strong competition, so need all the help we can get.

The Internet Telephony Services Providers' Association (ITSPA) has announced the nominations for the 2008 ITSPA Awards, to be held and announced on December 11.
Truphone has been nominated as Best Consumer VoIP, and will be up against some tough competition, including the Tesco Internet Phone.
Eli Katz, Chairman of ITSPA, said: "The purpose of the ITSPA awards 2008 is to foster excellence and to recognise and reward achievement."
