Easier balance check
Now you can text the word BALANCE to +44 7978
88 11 11 and we'll reply with your account credit details.*
Easier voicemail
We've removed the PIN number check if you're
calling from Truphone! Simply dial 1571 when you're connected to Truphone and
you can listen to your voicemail straight away.
*Truphone will never charge you to check your balance when you're connected to Truphone, but be sure to check your SMS charges with your operator if texting from a GSM number.
Today, Truphone is introducing the Tru Zone - simple, low-cost calling from anywhere on the planet.
We've abolished roaming charges. That means it doesn't matter where you are or where you travel to, you'll pay the same easy to understand rate to make Wi-Fi calls to domestic and international numbers. And there are no inbound charges either.
You can call any of the 40 countries in the Tru Zone for a tiny 3p to landlines and 15p to mobiles. Some countries such as the USA, Canada and China are double special. Calls to both landlines and mobiles are a flat 3p! Calls to much of the rest of the world are flat and simple too at just 5p to landlines and 25p to mobiles.

Coming into work in a cold and grey London, we warmed up quickly when we saw Truphone mentioned in this BBC piece on "Technologies on the rise in 2008"
As 2007 draws to a wintry close (especially here at Truphone Towers - brrrr), we've a couple of stocking fillers that we hope 'yule' love (ho ho).
First out of the sack of presents is the extension of free Truphone calling to landlines (and some cellphones) in 40 countries until the end of February . Now there's no excuse not to call all your relatives over the holidays ;-D

Thank you for all your custom and support in 2007. We've worked hard to build a new type of phone company for the internet age and have launched SMS over IP, calls over 3G, multi-SIM support for travellers and our brand new application for Facebook®.
And 2008 should be even better. We've got all kinds of goodies bubbling away in the labs, fizzing next to some rather peculiar VoIP-enabled test tubes, but we'll leave news of those for now.

One thousand eight hundred companies were eligible for the awards - Red Herring 100 winners and finalists from North America, Europe and Asia in the last three years - which celebrate the world's most promising private technology ventures.

We received some excellent news today: Truphone has been shortlisted for a prestigious Red Herring 100 Global Award 2007.
These awards "celebrate the world's most promising private technology ventures" and Red Herring 100 winners and finalists from North America, Europe and Asia over the last three years were eligible to enter.
This means that The Red Herring editorial team had 1800 eligible promising companies to consider, so a place on the final shortlist of 200 is already a terrific achievement. The 100 winners will be announced at an event in Seattle on December 4th.
